- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: P2 tourer at BrightwellsThanks for the supportive comments!I cut the ply door panels today and stripped the old material from what was left of the originals (with the number 58 pencilled on them!)I don’t think much fabric will be saveable, it is a complex lay up to make the design of the door card an it is very […]David2021
- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: P2 tourer at BrightwellsWell, that's all good news! A rexine replacement is particularly interesting. I had occasion to correspond with the owner of a 30s car a couple of months ago and he was asking for thoughts on his door restoration work. The thing that jumped out of the photos was firstly the thickness of the ply he […]SHyslop
- New members • P4 . 75 . 1958 & Twelve P2 Tourer 1948Hello, I am a new member and come from Germany. For the last 15 years I have driven Triumph TR4A, but now I have discovered the Rover vehicles for me and bought a P4 . 75 from 1958 (848 URE) at the turn of the year. Whilst getting to know the great Rover models better, […]ThomasMoRo
- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Technical data for Twelve P2 TourerHello, I am Thomas and will soon be registering a Rover Twelve P2 Tourer (JPO 848) in Germany. I need some technical data about the vehicle. As it is so rare, there is very little to be found on the Internet. Perhaps someone can help and provide me with some data. The German authorities are […]ThomasMoRo
- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: P2 tourer at BrightwellsLatest update! It is amazing what skill (not mine) can achieve. Both doors now fit and shut perfectly. The driver's door frame needed a lot of work including re-making a complete corner frame, but it is done. Very satisfying. Next "to do" is to get some life into the fuel tank sender unit...Good news is […]David2021
- Rovers Spotted • Re: A day of escape from the garageI think it will be difficult to stop buying the different Rovers because there are so many variants especially in the 30's. And you are right about the market for classic car sales being dire. But it could make a 16 cheaper! I have just succumbed to buying another project car (non-Rover) where the vendors […]RobHomewood
- Rovers Spotted • Re: A day of escape from the garageDear Rob,Thanks for asking and your comments are much appreciated. The missing link is a 16, either a saloon or sports saloon, which is somewhat strange as my first "in the metal" experience with 30s Rovers was a post war 16 in 1981. I suppose I've just not been looking at the right time for […]SHyslop
- Rovers Spotted • Re: A day of escape from the garageWow what a line up! You have your own rally. Tell me though - what is the missing one? I dont see a DHC perhaps thats the one?regardsRobRobHomewood
- Rovers Spotted • A day of escape from the garageI needed to have all the cars in a garage out to work on the floor and as yesterday was the best day so far, it seemed a good opportunity to take some pictures. Over the past few years, thanks to RSR members Alan, Ian, Iain,Keith,Rob and Steve for selling me their cars which I […]SHyslop
