- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: P2 BrakesHi Tony Many thanks for your response. Now you have assured me that they should come apart I will be more determined in my efforts - I'll give it a go tomorrow and report back. Thanks also for the gen. re the clevis pins - but that'll come later. Stay tuned!Best wishes, AdrianAdrianGoodyear
- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: P2 BrakesHi Adrian,You don’t say where this rod is located, but I’m guessing it’s the one that goes from the vertical swivel near the pedal box to the join where the handbrake connects? If so, I think this is the two piece rod that pushes backwards to operate the rear brakes. However, where one rod slides […]TonyG
- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • P2 BrakesNow into my second year of my (P2, 12hp, 6 light) restoration, I now turn my attention to the brakes.... Having dismantled everything prior to cleaning/repainting/replacing worn clevis pins etc, I find that there is a rod to the rear brakes that has a spring plunger device that (presumably) holds the rear brakes off unless […]AdrianGoodyear

- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: Fuel system for P2 TourerI would now want to disconnect the mechanical AC pump and disconnect the copper pipes at A and B. I would then connect A and B on the pump side with a hose. Then a pipe separation at C and a new hose from filter D to connection C, which leads to the carburettor..In the […]ThomasMoRo

Gill goes on to say "If you wish to attend you will be very welcome and I would ask you to wear your Rover Register uniform" (RSR Polo shirts and Fleeces […]GOY189
- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: Fuel system for P2 TourerFor what it’s worth! Both my 1947/8 tourers (technically export, but UK supplied)have bulkhead SU pumps. One was inside the car(!) but I preferred to take the risk of vapourising fuel to having a potential leak under the dash! I have the heat shield in place with a bit of insulation added & have had […]ThomasMoRo
- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: Mystery strapsHmm!The rear side screens do fit neatly under the seat squab, which is a result, but I can see no reason to use a strap! I cannot find a lift a dot stud anywhere in the vicinity. The stud has to screw into something solid, so the tonneau canvas seems unlikely. The seat pans and […]David2021

- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: Fuel system for P2 TourerDear ThomasThis is just drawn from my own experiences but hopefully something in it may be of use to you......Out of interest, I thought the 47 cars had an electric pump fitted rather than a mechanical one. I have a 47 12 exported to Jersey and it is so equipped. I wonder if that means […]ThomasMoRo
