- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: P2 tourer at BrightwellsLatest update! It is amazing what skill (not mine) can achieve. Both doors now fit and shut perfectly. The driver's door frame needed a lot of work including re-making a complete corner frame, but it is done. Very satisfying. Next "to do" is to get some life into the fuel tank sender unit...Good news is […]David2021
- Rovers Spotted • Re: A day of escape from the garageI think it will be difficult to stop buying the different Rovers because there are so many variants especially in the 30's. And you are right about the market for classic car sales being dire. But it could make a 16 cheaper! I have just succumbed to buying another project car (non-Rover) where the vendors […]RobHomewood
- Rovers Spotted • Re: A day of escape from the garageDear Rob,Thanks for asking and your comments are much appreciated. The missing link is a 16, either a saloon or sports saloon, which is somewhat strange as my first "in the metal" experience with 30s Rovers was a post war 16 in 1981. I suppose I've just not been looking at the right time for […]SHyslop
- Rovers Spotted • Re: A day of escape from the garageWow what a line up! You have your own rally. Tell me though - what is the missing one? I dont see a DHC perhaps thats the one?regardsRobRobHomewood
- Rovers Spotted • A day of escape from the garageI needed to have all the cars in a garage out to work on the floor and as yesterday was the best day so far, it seemed a good opportunity to take some pictures. Over the past few years, thanks to RSR members Alan, Ian, Iain,Keith,Rob and Steve for selling me their cars which I […]SHyslop
- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: Fuel Starvation?I thought it was maybe worth adding a recent experience to this topic. A newish addition to the fleet, a 1934 car, was starting and running ok in the garage but when going uphill (and not a biggish hill) the carburettor emptied of petrol and it came to a stop. Examination and replacement of all […]SHyslop
- Early post WWII, P3 the original Rover 75 and 60 • Re: P3 75 floor panel fixingIt’s a while since I did this job on my P2, but I’m sure the screws are 1/4BSF. So it would be reasonable to expect the same on P3’s as you suggest. No knowing what previous repairers have done I suppose. Have you tried running a 1/4BSF tap into the captive nuts?Hope that helps, DaveMHAD501

- Early post WWII, P3 the original Rover 75 and 60 • P3 75 floor panel fixingI have taken the floor panels out of my P3 75 to restore. I have removed all the fixing bolts which fix into the captive nuts on the outer frame and chassis. I'd like to replace them. What thread are they? I thought they were 1/4BSF but they seem to be slightly finer thread. Many […]Hud60
- Early post WWII, P3 the original Rover 75 and 60 • P3 rear spring shackle adjustmentI am trying to level up the rear suspension after new springs fitted and the car has a 1” list. I have read the w/s manual item on doing this by slackening off the shackle bolts and winding in or out the threaded adjustment bolt. This makes no measurable difference to the height measured from […]byb
