In 1967′ish I discovered a 1921 Rover 12 Tourer, registration no NK 2822, that had been locked away in a substantial garage since about 1927. After a very lengthy and interesting negotiation with the daughter of the first owner (details on request!!) I purchased it, eventually got it back into service, enjoyed it for a year or so and was them tempted to sell it, something I continue to regret. Has anybody any idea where she is today?

    Dear Sirs,
as I can remember you wrote 12 – 15 years ago an article about a P4 pick up as a prototype for the australian market and you have printed the only existing picture.
We wrote an article in our club gazette about the history of the P4´s and we havn´t had a picture of the pick up. It is possible to mail me the picture.
    Thank´s for your help.
    Kind regards
    Tobias Wehrstedt

Now you’ve got me going I’ve looked up some stuff in a file from long ago.
It was said that if you mothballed a P3 and then took it out 50 years later you could show the world the best of English and a quality automobile.
The Rover P3, the poor mans Bentley or was it Rolls Royce ?

I’ve had 2 Rover P3′s in Canada and never had any trouble with overheating even in the heat of our summers but I was never in a traffic jam which I could well imagine overheating being a problem.
This was back in the 60′s. I’ve had quite a collection of cars since then and I had less trouble, in fact no trouble with the P3. Retired now and think I’ll get one and go touring. A great car.

John Cope :P3 elec fan:Had the experience of a fan blade break off and tear into radr. Replaced via Viking Eng the radr + water pump while stripped down and sourced a fan from John Wearing.Used a Kenlowe 10? heavy – code on invoice 10.HP.BB.0570. This is 12v 9amp.This fits in front of radr, plenty of space and is secured by 4 simple cable ties passed from behind thru the fins and locked tight from the front. Very lightweight.I did not use the thermostat but a manual switch on the dash. It is in addition to the mech fan and not stand alone. Careful on fan direction when wiring and ensure you push air onto radr.On the run to Warwick RSR meet last week (250 mile round trip) used the elec fan heavily on gradients and heavy traffic. I don’t think the P3 was built for extreme hot weather and traffic jams.
