The RSR Northern Rally at the Ribble Steam Railway in Preston is now booked for Saturday 18th September.
The venue will be the Ribble Steam Railway in Preston. The railway’s website is at www.ribblesteam.org.uk for further details but entry includes the museum, workshop and unlimited train rides. The three mile return trip usually runs every hour and includes crossing the dock swing bridge (a unique feature on this line) and then along the banks of the River Ribble, giving interesting views of the City of Preston.
The museum houses many locomotives and other vehicles together with displays on a variety of subjects. The locomotives can need work ranging from minor repairs to total rebuilds and this is done on site. The workshop has a viewing area to enable visitors to see the work being done.
There is also a shop and a café. Free hot drinks and a discount on other purchases at the café will be available for drivers.
The originally proposed guided tour of the site won’t be going ahead as there are currently fewer volunteers available.
An entry form is available
returned to Mark Hinman on 01253 869373 or at email@example.com. Entry is £5 which will include a donation to the railway. However, as the Ribble Steam Railway is a registered charity I’m sure any additional donations on the day would be welcomed!
All previous entries have been carried forward but if anyone is unable to make the new date and would like a refund then please contact Mark Hinman using the details above.
