Just found out about this on the metro forum and we are hoping to come down for the weekend [will be saturday am got a wedding fri nite] me my mrs and little boy in our MG Metro and my brother and his wife in his 69 cooper s, so once weve sorted it for definate ill book us in and just hope for nice weather :-]

Hi Steven the RSR manual is probably the place to start, although there will probably be changes unless you wan to return to original (flashing indicators) Also Mike Evans maybe able to either supply or give advice.

I once owned a 1936 rover 14 sports saloon reg
JB6652 .I understand the car still exists.
I have some photos of the car which I would be happy to pass on to the current owner,
I would appreciate the current owner to make contact with me as I would dearly like to see the car again ,it belonged to me between 1961 to 1963 [Northwood Middlesex ]

Thank you Mike for getting in touch. Yes, plenty of fun with the addressograph! The last we heard of CFY993 was that it was languishing in a garage in London and still in the possession of Ray Sutcliffe. that was a few years ago.

hi Jacqueline a couple of options:

you can advertise in the classifieds on this site free of charge with pictures or
you can put an ad on ebay in the classic car parts section
a picture would be useful as there were many ‘head mascots’

My neighbour has a Viking Head Mascot in mint conditon taken by his father many many years ago from a rover of about 1953. He would like to sell it. Could you point me in a direction where he might be able to do this? Thank you.

I am looking for an original P1 lifting jack and handle for my P1 ‘ 10 ‘ 1934 ( ’35 model ). The make is Lake & Elliott, originally green in colour with a round base ( square bases were later ).
I have just bought a nearly completed restoration Rover 10 Coupe 1938, I will be finishing the restoration, can anyone help me with the type of jack this car would have had originally?

Hello Heather,
I’m sorry for the delayed reply, how nice to hear from you, I remember the tales of bespattered spare bedrooms from using the addressograph. CFY993 is still on the DVLA database, but looks as though it has not been taxed for some time. I will do some detective work and see if I can find anything else.
