Wanted to hire a P6 1936 Rover for a romantic engagement proposal in Sandhurst can anyone help me please

    • #2 by rover16man on November 21, 2012 - 10:50 am

      Hi Derek,
thanks for your comment, can you let us know if it is a P6 you would like as the date would then have to be more like 1966, or did you mean a P2, ie a running board Rover, which indeed could be 1936.

      Cheers

Hi – my father bought a 1946 rover 16 Sportsmans saloon only three days ago, and has already managed to break the dipper switch in the centre of the steering wheel! After trying to repair it with super glue the switch is now solid and there are no headlights at all illuminated, so the two questions I have are is there anyone out there with a switch to sell or knows where I could buy one from, and the second question is how do I remove the centre of the steering wheel to replace it? Thanks for your help, Rgds Charlie 07702 093941

      Hi Charlie,
To answer the second question first,
The switch is attached to a tube that passes down the centre of the hollow steering column, there is a pinch bolt at the end of the steering box. Release that bolt and you can gently pull the horn push, tube and surround upwards. You may have to take the back window out of the car to get the horn push/ dip switch/ tube out.

The horn push and dip switch assembly is the same as Series1 landrover, but are very expensive. The dip switch is not listed as a separate part.

    Hi,
A message for the owner of P2 14 Reg No. KMK 302.
I was at a car show in Essex today (15/07) and met a gentleman who had owned this car for a couple of years some time ago, 60′s I think and has some photos’ of it and a little bit of history. He is also interested to know where it is now.
Please contact me at the above email address if you have any info.

    Dear folks,

I am just dropping a line to thank whoever popped a flier on my 1989, Rover 213 at Wimpole Estate on the 2nd July. I am wondering if and when you have meetings in the Cambridge area? I’d be happy to attend and see about joining the group.

I am looking at having the interior cleaned up and the roof lining redone. Its falling away sadly.
Any recommended up holsters in the area?

Best wishes to all Rover fans
